The Snohomish County Jail Inmate Register is a public resource that allows anyone to check if a specific person is in custody at the county jail in Washington state. Public information about current and recently arrested individuals can be found on the SnohomishCourt.us website. Additionally, data is available through the official website of the Sheriff's Corrections Bureau, by phone, or in person at the jail lobby. The registry search allows you to find out the detention status, charges, and bail information. The register is maintained by the Corrections Bureau of the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office and is updated regularly throughout the day. The register also includes data on individuals held in the municipal jails of Lynnwood and Marysville.

Find Snohomish Jail Booking Records Online
A booking record is created every time a person is admitted to jail. During this process, the following are recorded:
- Unique booking number
- Date and time of admission
- Charges filed
- Arresting agency (sheriff's office, city police, etc.)
- Basic identification details of the detainee
Basic booking information can be viewed directly in the online inmate register. If you need more detailed records — such as a full arrest report or jail case documentation — you need to submit an official public records request.
To do this, contact the Sheriff's Public Records division. Requests can be sent:
- By email
- By fax: 425-388-3939
- By mail: 3000 Rockefeller Ave, M/S #606, Everett, WA 98201
- In person at the Sheriff's Office in Everett (by appointment for free document review)
Inmate medical records have a separate procedure. Even the inmate must submit a special request to obtain their medical records from the jail.
Search the Snohomish Jail Roster by Last Name or Booking Number
The inmate register supports two main search methods.
Search by Last Name
Enter the last name in full. To narrow down the results, add the first name. A few tips:
- Use exact spelling — even one letter mistake can lead to empty results.
- If the last name contains a hyphen or apostrophe, try variations with and without them.
- Common last names may return many records — the first name will help find the right person faster.
Search by Booking Number
If you have the booking number, enter it in the appropriate field. This method is the most accurate and returns a single result.
What to Do If the Search Yields No Results?
- Check the spelling of the name — try alternative variations.
- The person may have already been released — the register only shows those currently in custody.
- The booking process may not be completed yet, and the record has not appeared in the system.
- Call the jail at 425-388-3395 for clarification.
If the person has been transferred to a state-level facility, check the Washington Department of Corrections inmate search.
Jail Roster Updates and Search Limitations in Snohomish
The register is updated throughout the day but not in real-time. There may be a delay of several minutes to several hours between the actual admission to jail and the appearance of the record in the online system. This depends on staff workload and data processing speed during booking.
Main limitations to be aware of:
- Booking delay. New inmates do not appear in the register immediately — the processing takes time.
- Disappearance after release. Once a person is released from custody, their record is usually removed from the active register. The register is not an archive of all past arrests.
- Only current custody. The system shows those who are currently in custody. To search for historical records, a public records request must be submitted through the county public records portal.
- Minors excluded. Information about individuals under 18 is not displayed.
- Technical errors. Data entry errors sometimes occur — incorrect name spelling or missing record. If you are sure a person should be in the register, contact the jail directly.
To check for active arrest warrants, use the Outstanding Warrants page on the county website or call the court clerk's office at 425-388-3466. State-level criminal history information is provided by the Washington State Patrol.
